My goal is to infer, analyze and understand the complex host-microbiota landscapes through use and development of bioinformatic tools in the purpose of reverse engineering the taxonomic, functional and regulatory mechanisms of host-microbiota interactions.
Microbiome studies pose complex problems due to the large number of actors and variables at play in the host-microbiome landscape. The understanding of such intricate mechanisms requires constant adaptation, evolution and improvement in the methods used to analyze and model host-symbiont systems.
